Premier League Giants Interested In Signing Evans

3 way battle for Evans

West Bromwich Albion captain Jonny Evans may be in between a 3 way transfer battle coming January with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United among the clubs currently monitoring the 29 year old. Arsenal and Man City were long time admirers of the versatile centre back but the Sunday Mirror believes that Man United, his former employer has also come into the frame to land Evans after selling the player to West Brom two and a half year ago.

Jonny Evans in action for West Brom

Manchester City have been hit hard with their defence related problems this season, with new recruit Benjamin Mendy side lined due to ACL tear, John Stones having pulled his hamstring and Kompany not keeping up his match fitness. Arsenal have been suffering following Mertesacker not making regular appearances in the starting XI and having offloaded Gibbs too. United have been facing problems in their back line too, with Eric Bailey out for 3 months and Darmian not fitting well in Mourinho’s plans.

Evans has starred in 14 matches this season for the Baggies, having an impressive pass accuracy of over 80% accompanied by a healthy tackle winning rate of 83%. He has been a central figure in West Brom’s line up ever since his arrival from United and has established himself as one of the most sought after and sturdy defenders in the Premier League.

After City’s failure to bring him to Etihad last transfer window after not agreeing to pay out his £30 mil price tag, Guardiola may be quick this time around to land his man after other teams have lined up too to acquire the Irish centre back and add him to their ranks.
