Lemar Set To Arrive In England As Per Reports
Lemar finally set to arrive in England?
After a very confusing transfer saga in the last transfer window when AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar missed a deadline day move to Arsenal after Man City were denied Alexis Sanchez, things finally look sorted out according to French media house L’Equipe as Arsenal seem to have struck an agreement with Monaco over the future of the French international.
The player has been out of touch recently, given his team’s below par performance in Ligue 1 while crashing out of the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, after managing a meagre total of 2 points; behind Besiktas, FC Porto and RB Leipzig to add to their season woes as they sit on the 3rd position in their domestic league.
The 21 year old pacey winger has appeared in only 11 games for his club out of a possible 17, having scored once and assisting thrice in his time on the field. His Champions League outing has been worse, starting in only 3 matches and left out on 3 occasions without scoring or assisting even a single time. Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of the wide midfielder, given the fact he was ready to fork out $92 million on the last day of the previous transfer window.
With Sanchez leaving for rivals Manchester City looking imminent than ever, Wenger might just be able to persuade the Frenchman to come over to London to give him enough playtime in order to stay in contention for next year’s World Cup in Russia.
Arsenal have been struggling a lot this season, having slipped to the 7th spot in the League table recently and Lemar could bring about a change in fortune for the Gunners as they seek to perform well in the Europa League too.
