Galatasaray Joins The Race In Signing Manchester United Defender

Galatasaray after United fullback

Given Turkish giants Galatasaray’s superb run in the Super Lig this season, they are hoping to bring in more recruits in order to cement their place on the top and bring Champions League nights back to the enthusiastic city of Istanbul. According to several reports in Turkey, the club is set to lure in Manchester United’s out of favour full back Matteo Darmian in the coming transfer season.

The Italian international has seen his playing time reduce drastically, given the fact that United boss Jose Mourinho has been constantly fielding Antonio Valencia in the right back position. Reports suggest that Galatasaray are very much keen on the player and want him to sign on an 18 month loan period with an option to make it permanent it’s the expiry.
Darmian has just featured in a handful of games for the Red Devils this summer, having made only 4 appearances out of the total 17 matches and is certainly insecure of his place in the United line up. Having a rather pinpoint passing accuracy of 85%, he can be a valuable addition to the Turkish side who certainly have made him their top priority coming transfer window.

Darmian has been left out in Champions League matches too by his manager Jose Mourinho, after he starred in just half of United’s group stage matches. With Antonio Valencia looking a strong favourite for the right back position, Darmian may fancy a move out of Old Trafford in order to revamp his playing career and be in contention for his national team.
