1.I League 2017/18.
Less-fancied Shillong Lajong held favourites but depleted Mohun Bagan to a 1-1 draw in an I-League encounter at the Saltlake Stadium.

2. ISL 2017/18.
A double strike from striker Miku helped Bengaluru FC defeat FC Pune City 3-1 after being a goal down in their Indian Super League encounter.

3. Again a fan brawl.
Police in Serbia have arrested 26 people after a massive fan brawl during a soccer match between Belgrade rivals Red Star and Partizan that left at least 20 people injured.
Police said Thursday that foreign nationals are among those who were detained after Wednesday’s match, which ended 1-1. Local media said six Croats, one Greek and one Bulgarian are among the arrested.

4. Pulisic on a roll.
Teenage midfielder Christian Pulisic was named as the U.S. male Player of the Year on Thursday, becoming the youngest. (19 years) to win the award. Landon Donovan was the previous youngest winner. He was 21 when he won in 2003.

5. From defensive to offensive.
West Ham United have the chance to develop their attacking threat against fellow Premier League strugglers in the next few matches after coming through a recent run of tough fixtures with some decent results, manager David Moyes has said.

6. No sale for Sanchez and Ozil.
Arsenal will not sell Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil during the January transfer window, manager Arsene Wenger has said. Both players are out of contract at the end of the season and are yet to agree to new deals, and there has been speculation that Arsenal could sell the influential pair in January to avoid seeing them leave for free in the summer.

7. Mbappe for Bale.
Diego Maradona says he has a solution to Real Madrid’s scarcity of goals this season – sign France teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe from Paris St Germain and give Gareth Bale away for free. Real’s record signing Bale has endured another nightmare season with injuries but fired the European champions into the Club World Cup final on Wednesday by striking the winner in a nervy 2-1 win over Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira.

8. Simeone won’t be a barrier.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has said he will have no problem letting his side’s talismanic forward Antoine Griezmann walk away from the club in the future. Griezmann, who has scored 90 goals in 178 games for Atletico since 2014, was reportedly close to moving to Manchester United in the close season but opted to remain at Atletico after the club’s appeal against a ban on registering new players was rejected.

9. Golden chance for Barcelona.
Barcelona have managed to get away with some lacklustre displays recently and Sunday’s visit of struggling Deportivo La Coruna offers them a chance to recapture their sparkling early season form a week before the ‘Clasico’ against Real Madrid.

10. Kane is not the only factor.
Manchester City must not focus their attention solely on striker Harry Kane as they prepare to host a resurgent Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday, defender Eliaquim Mangala has said. Kane, the league’s second-highest goal-scorer this campaign with 12 goals, has netted four times in Tottenham’s last five games as the north London side have recovered from a dip in form to record back-to-back league wins.
