Real Madrid Interested In Signing Courtois

Real Madrid’s summer target is to sign Chelsea Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

De Gea, 27, agreed to move to the Bernabeu in 2015 but his dream move collapsed on deadline day when Madrid failed to file the necessary paperwork in time. The Spaniard signed a new four-year deal with United the following week but speculation has persisted that he’s set to move to Los Blancos.

Chelsea quoted Madrid a price of around £76m for Courtois in 2015 and the Blues have not lowered their price since, despite the Belgian’s contract expiring in 2019.

Courtois will have a year to run on his deal by the summer and Madrid believe getting the Belgium international will be easier than prising De Gea away from Old Trafford.

Courtois, for one, would be keen on a move to the La Liga giants and he recently admitted that he would be keen on a move back to Spain where his former partner and two kids live.

‘Everybody knows that due to my personal situation, Spain attracts me,” Courtois told Spanish radio station LaSexta. ‘If it is not now, it will be in some years. ‘I am happy at Chelsea. I just want to wait because now there are many games and I prefer to have my head focused on that.’
