1.Bailey may need surgery.
Manchester United defender Eric Bailly may need surgery on the injury that has kept him out of action since early November, manager Jose Mourinho said on Wednesday. Bailly had trouble with his groin after returning from international duty with the Ivory Coast in October but has been sidelined with an ankle injury.

2. PSG on a roll.
Defending champion Paris Saint-Germain reached the League Cup quarterfinals after winning 4-2 at Strasbourg on Wednesday. PSG, which has won the past four editions, was keen to prove a point after Strasbourg ended its unbeaten start to the season with a league win earlier this month. Strasbourg beat PSG 2-1 at home on December 2 but it was a different story this time.

3. Victory for Tottenham Hotspur
Serge Aurier’s first goal for Tottenham Hotspur and a late effort by Son Heung-min sealed a 2-0 win for the hosts over Brighton and Hove Albion to restore their place in the top four of the Premier League on Wednesday.

4. Draw for Arsenal.
West Ham United held out to secure a goalless draw at home with Arsenal on Wednesday after the visitors missed a string of chances in a pulsating Premier League clash at the London Stadium. The result left Arsenal seventh on 30 points from 17 games while West Ham are 19th on 14 points.

5. Lukaku scores.
Manchester United responded to their derby defeat by Manchester City with an unimpressive 1-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth at a subdued Old Trafford on Wednesday. Romelu Lukaku’s ninth league goal of the season, a 25th- minute header at the back post from a Juan Mata cross, was enough to give second -placed United the win but they had keeper David De Gea to thank for the three points.

Manchester City maintained their irresistible Premier League charge, offering no let-up in their all-conquering season with a record 15th successive league win as they outclassed struggling Swansea City 4-0 on Wednesday. Pep Guardiola’s side, fresh from defeating their closest chasers Manchester United on Sunday, were at their dazzling best against the league’s bottom club, easing to victory with David Silva’s double and goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero.

7. Leicester city got their clinch.
Leicester City secured a resounding 4-1 Premier League win at Southampton on Wednesday as their manager Claude Puel continued his superb start at the club and gained revenge over the team who sacked him in June.

8. Gareth ‘glittering’ Bale.
Gareth Bale scored with his first touch after coming off the bench to strike the Real Madrid winner as the European champions survived a scare to beat local side Al Jazira 2-1 on Wednesday and reach the Club World Cup final.

9. Ings may have new home.
West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew will decide his transfer strategy by the end of the week and has confirmed that the club were interested in signing striker Danny Ings from Premier League rivals Liverpool in January.

10. I League 2017/18.
Defending champion Aizawl FC defeated Churchill Brothers by a solitary goal to garner full three points from their first home match of the ongoing Hero I-League. Yugo Kobayashi scored a late goal in the 88th minute to bring a sigh of relief for the home fans.
