Wolfsburg : It looks odd when a club like Wolfsburg struggles against teams. Though they had a unbeaten streak of 8 games prior to MatchDay 13 but got it depleated against Augsburg as they were defeated 2-1.
Their standing on the table looks awful as they stand on 14th position with 14 points from 13 MatchDays. It needs to improve soon. Their scoring performance hasn’t been good too, they scored 17 goals but also conceded 19 on the way. So it seems nothing is working for Wolfsburg at the moment but things have certainly changed under new coach Martin Schmidt rather than that of previous boss Andries Jonker.
Schmidt will be without some key players as Maximillian Arnold is suspended after his red card vs Augsburg as well as Ignacio Camacho (Ankle) and Sebastian Jung (Ankle) through injuries. Blaszczykowski (Back problem) remains as a doubt.
Possible line up – Wolfsburg (4-3-3) : Casteels; Verhaegh, Knoche, Brooks, Tisserand; Guilavogui, Didavi, Gerhardt; Origi, Gomez, Malli.
Gladbach : Aren’t they flying high? Oh yes they are! Beating Bayern isn’t a easy job and it’s even more tough when their manager is Jupp Heynckes but they did that. They defeated Bayern 2-1 at home with Hazard and Ginter finding the net for the Foals. So more of the same against strugglers Wolfsburg?
Though it’s a away Match but if Gladbach try hard they could get a win as well. Currently they stand on 4th position in the table with 24 points after 13 MatchDays, scoring 23 goals and conceding 22. About the conceding part, though their 2 first team centre backs Jannik Vestergaard and Mathias Ginter are finding the net often but they are not capable enough to defend their own Goal! They need to understand that their Job is to defend not to score always.
Former Wolf’s boss Dieter Hecking will be without some key players as well when he travels to the Volkswagen Arena, Jantschke, Strobl, Ibrahim Traore, Patrick Herrmann, Hofmann and Laszlo Benes all are out with injuries. Christoph Kramer (Concussion) and Jannik Vestergaard (Illness) are doubt’s for this fixture.
Possible line up – Gladbach (4-2-2-2) : Sommer; Elvedi, Ginter, Vestergaard, Wendt; Kramer, Zakaria; Grifo, Stindl; Hazard, Raffael.
