The capital club were tamed by the 2016 I league champs Bengaluru at Kantiveera as they suffered a 4-1 demolition, baffled by a horrid performance. An awesome performance from Paartalu with his hat trick left no ground for the visitors to stand on. Collectively, the shape of the squad wasn’t great at all even though they edged past Pune 3-2 in their opener of the campaign. The wounded lions are therefore were on a search for an easy prey and they spotted the highlanders to battle. Coach Miguel Portugal would eye for points now against the mountainous side in order to regain what is lost.
Things are also not up to the mark for the highlanders still trying to jump into the boat of glory. With only one point in their hand after two games since the start is making them look uncomfortable on the outskirts of the points chart. A lack of money utility in the transfer window is ceasing Northeast’s phenomenal ride of last campaign and they had to depend upon local boys to delete their previous disappointments from their mind. A goalless draw against Jamshedpur and a three point loss to Chennaiyan in 3-1 defeat means the team is subsiding in its power. Before it take a destructive turn in a amateur look so early, the mountainous side will dream points against the hosts at country capital.
Delhi’s main concern is on the midfielder where they lack a standout character the likes of which they used to keep in the previous two season. They failed to retain most of the stars in the previous season and are hoping for the best out of new inclusion. One of them would be Kalou Uche. Uche knows a lot about Indian pitches as he featured earlier in the I league with Mohabadan Fc and would like to take the goal scoring striker role once again. Full back Pritam Kotal will try to emulate his best as the season runs.
Northeast looks shattered after they lost their danger man Emiliano Alfaro to Delhi in the Draft. They also lack Katshumi service this season after he decided to play for the league he love with East Bengal.
But are expectations have taken a toll and the highlanders are looking to clear objectives using their home grown talents and youngsters from other test. One of the key players in that category for them would be Narzary. This talented kid would surely shine the brightest on the forward line in the days to arrive.
TP Rehensh confidence seem to have depleted and he must try to push harder to improve his form.
