India’s U17 starlet Dheeraj Singh receives offer from Blackburn Rovers
Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem the perfect Goalkeeper who had impressed the whole nation with his shot stopping skills in U-17 FIFA WC, had received an offer from English League One club Blackburn Rovers. Where he may have a minimum training period of Three months, and it is also confirmed by various source that he was not intrested to sign the cotract extension with AIFF.
The 17-year-old goalkeeper from Manipur has an existing contract with the AIFF that runs until the end of the year. Interestingly, based on his current contract with them, AIFF has registered the player for I-League with the Indian Arrows squad coached by Luis Norton de Matos.
After his contract runs out, clubs interested in the signature of the young goalkeeper will have to get a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the football federation.
As of now, there are several Indian Super League (ISL) clubs interested in the player and one of those clubs has written to the federation regarding the matter. Should the player join Rovers, who are plying their trade in the third tier of English football, he would then be expected to ply his trade for the said ISL club.
Amarjit Singh and Rahul KP were two other players from the India Under-17 World Cup squad who hadn’t signed a contract with the AIFF. However, the duo have penned an extension of three years to commit their future to the Indian Arrows.
It is reported earlier that Scotish Club Motherwell called for trials and to offer a month-long trial for Dheeraj.
