Liverpool vs Chelsea 1-1: 5 Talking Points

Mo Salah’s first half cool strike was cancelled out late in the second half by Willian as Liverpool were held 1-1 after a not so boring match.
Both Jurgen Klopp and Antonio conte played it safe in the midfield as they left some of their key players on the bench. Liverpool without Mane and Firmino and Chelsea without Fabregas looked a bit dull but to be honest Conte will be the happier manager as he got a point after trailing in the first 70 minutes.
Here are 5 talking points from Anfield.

Salah creates the headlines yet again: By far the best signing across Europe’s top leagues Sallah delivers again. It was his 10th goal of the campaign as he left behind Lukaku and Kane to be the top scorer. A sloppy Bakayoko defending gave the Egyptian a chance to score in the first half as coolly tucked it past beyond Courtois.

Playing it safe: Both Klopp and Conte set up their sides quite non creatively as talents like Fabregas and Mane started from bench. The midfield stretch was working for both of them but lack of creativity was clearly reflected on the scoreline.

Liverpool find it “Hazard”ous: Danny Drinkwater, Kante, both were looking to break the opponent attacks and give the ball to the danger man Hazard that was Chelsea’s plan and that nearly came off also. As the Belgian’s sharp turns , mazy runs and perfect through balls were causing problems constatntly for the reds.
Conte’s brilliant Changes: The game was looking in the favor of Liverpool until Fabregas stepped on the pitch and pulls the strings. Clearly it was him that was missing in the Chelsea’s midfield. His vision, Playing the balls between the lines changed the game for Chelsea and another Conte change Willian’s effort was converted into goal as he was looking to stick the ball up in the second post.

Klopp’s agony: For the second week in a row Jurgen Klopp saw his side thrown away leads and he knows this can cost him his job. After the goal, in the second half he took off Sturridge and replaced him with Wijnaldum to defend the 1 goal lead. But after they concede there was no time to change the match again which clearly shows his lack of vision of the game.
