How Mohunbagan Will Line-up For The 2017/18 I-league Campaign?
11th edition of Hero I-league will kick start the new campaign at Ludhiana where host Minerva will welcome Mohun Bagan for the opener.
Our prime focus over here is Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan aiming to win the title which they missed out at the end in the last campaign. The Green and Maroons fought their best but could not resist an unbelievable tale of Aizawl fc claiming the silverware first time in their history.
So Bagan recruited some interesting names from abroad to bolster their squad and make it powerful as ever. The team contains creativity and gaming sense among its players as Sen wish to guide his team for the second title under his reign.
Goalkeepers: Shilton Paul, Shibinraj K, Seram Porei
Arijit Bagui, Kingsley Obumene, Kinshuk Debnath, Bikramjeet Singh, Suman Hazra, Abhisek Das, Bikas Saini, Ricky Lallawmanan, Gurjinder Kumar
Chesterpaul Lyngdoh, Azaruddin Mallick, Sony Norde, Diogo Ferreira, Yuta Kinowaki, Raynier Fernandes, ShiltonD’Silva, Nikhil Kadam, Sourav Das, Rohit Mizra, Irrail Gurung, Pintu
Anusuma Kromah, Dipanda Dicka, Uttam Rai, Beikhoutai Beingaicho, Naro Hari Shrestha
Mohun Bagan nevertheless is a much more stronger and the club itself like attacking set of football and so the signing of forwards and attacking midfielders should not be taken as a doubt. The news of Sony Norde’s contract renewal had helped the team a lot for the new captain has an extra workload to carry forward after leader Katshumi left the club. Bagan is also partially dependable on Norde’s performance. Assisting him will be new faces of Diogo Ferreira and Yuta, both brings a lot of experience in the team. Some defining names upfront means Bagan have deleted inconsistency in there. The introduction of Anusuma Kromah is magnificent along with another star signing of Dipanda Dicka. Kromah brought stability in the forward line for Bagan in the Calcutta league and he will be poised to repeat his performance in India’s most coveted league. Nothing to say new about his striking partner Dipanda Dika who made a terrific impact in the league in his first campaign with Shillong Lajong, becoming the top scorer of the tournament. He also bagged 11 goals in the Calcutta league earning the same respect with Mohabadan Fc.
Also Bagan have some young talents like Chestarpaul Lyngdoh and Azaruddin at their disposal.
The main problem will be at the back line because Bagan is affected by a Eduardo at the backline with the departure of Anas and Eduardo from Center back role. But defenders like Kinshuk Debnath and Kingsley will retain hopes to avoid any downfall. The team is also short of Indian stars most of those who opted to join ISL.
Analysing the squad, Sen would apply for this tactical formation giving Sony Norde full independence assisted by supporting midfielders like Yuta and Diogo. It will strengthened the back line as well with center backs to play more closely and dominate ball possession. The two striker upfront will be a ferocious pair indeed.
Another formation which will aid Bagan’s superiority in the attack. It will also allow Chesterpaul Lyngdoh to move as a winger on the right plank. Norde can turn to a central attacking mido with vast line of attacks merging through one. Ricky is more suitable to make overlapping runs by this formation.
All eyes are now turned towards the boat with the sale as it began the journey on a silence less ocean to reach the soar.
