Guwahati City F.C. Releases a Statement on Fan Harrassment In ISL

Assam based Guwahati City F.C. has released a statement after few fans of NorthEast United were heckled in Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium during the Indian Super League match between Chennaiyin FC and NorthEast United.

“Guwahati City FC (GCFC) strongly condemns the harassment of North-East United FC (NEUFC) fans during an ISL match against Chennaiyin FC in Chennai. A section of unruly supporters of the Chennai club were seen harassing some NEUFC fans including women in a video circulated through media and GCFC, as a club from Assam stands in solidarity with NEUFC and fans in this highly objectionable incident. In a statement, club director Kaustab Chakrabarty said that there is no place of racism or any kind of hate and violence in the beautiful game. GCFC appeals to ISL authority and Chennaiyin FC to take strong action against such people and make sure that such unwarranted incidents never happen in stadiums.” The Club Director Rangman Das Stated.
