Everton vs Atalanta Europa League Match Preview

0 18

Everton have endured a miserable Europa League campaign so far this season. They failed to progress into the knockout stage of the competition after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat to French side Lyon in their last outing.

The Toffees have garnered just a single point over the course of this campaign, and David Unsworth’s side will be playing for pride on Thursday night. They go into the game on the back of drawing against Crystal Palace in the Premier League – with the game’s big talking point being Oumar Niasse’s controversial penalty decision – which resulted him in being the first Premier League player to be retrospectively banned for an alleged act of simulation to deceive the match officials.

They take on mid-table Italians Atalanta, who sit at the top of Group E with eight points. The last time both sides met, Everton lost 3-0.
