Roma head out to Spain as they will take on 3rd place Atletico Madrid at their new Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid. A loss for Atletico will knockout them out of the champions league. The two sides played out a 0-0 draw in their opening game of the group in which Roma goalkeeper Alisson was unreal making 9 saves. A lot has changed since then for both teams on hand Roma currently sit top 4 in Serie A having won 5 on the bounce and continue to play well under Eusebio Di Francesco as high flying Roma are in great form they have hardly put a foot wrong over the last few weeks.
On the other hand Atletico Madid a team that has make two finals in the last 4 years has lost their sizzle this season. They just aren’t the same team anymore they have struggled against Qarabag getting two draws against a team you has never even been in the CL before. As well as struggles in the league they are very much not in the title race in Spain while Roma are flying and one of the contenders in Italy.
Roma have all the firepower in the world to get three points from this Atletico Madrid are over matched across the board. Their front three of El Shaarawy Perotti and Dzeko is very dangerous their midfield is one of the best in Europe lead by one of the best players in the world in Radja Nainggolan and their defense doesn’t concede many goals. This will cause them big problems all over the place.
I don’t even think their star Antoine Griezmann can get them out of this he had a miserable time last time he faced Roma epsically when having to deal with Federico Fazio he ended up in his pocket all game he was a non factor the best they can home for is a draw. Away from home Roma are excellent which is why this has Roma win written all over it Eusebio Di Francesco’s Roman army just have too much quality for Atletico Madrid to deal with as Roma in all likely hood will end The Powerhouse that Atletico Madid once was
