Despite laboring a bit in their last game against Benevento, during which the debutants took a surprise lead, Juventus rallied back to secure a 2-1 win. It’s important to also note that Massimiliano Allegri heavily rotated his squad for that match and gave a break to several key players, including Gianluigi Buffon. The visitors now seem to have finally hit their stride and are just one point behind Napoli in what has shaped up to be a very interesting Scudetto race so far.
That being said, Juve have been far from solid at the back, and Sampdoria will definitely take advantage of that. The Bianconeri have especially been less than steady in their road fixtures and notably conceded twice against Udinese and Atalanta. Whilst they avoided defeat in both instances, it’s something Samp will seek to exploit.
Despite their strong start to the season, Sampdoria have taken only one point from their last eight Serie A games against Juventus. That really doesn’t bode well for the hosts, who have been punching well above their weight and despite some impressive results at home, including beating both Atalanta and AC Milan, Juventus are expected to be too strong for them.
Massimo Allegri’s only selection problem’s could come in midfield. Miralem Pjanic is still recovering from a thigh injury that kept him out of the Benevento win, while Juan Cuadrado is the only one from that match who could be doubtful, having returned early from international duty with Colombia due to a groin injury.
For their part Sampdoria have no players missing through bans or injuries, so will potentially be unchanged from the win over Genoa.
