It’s the first Sunday in the ISL season, and anyway the goalless draw had came to an end, FC Goa started their season with a victory over Chennaiyin FC. The 5 goal match was bitter sad to the CFC fans as the match took place in Chennai.
All the predictions was in favour of CFC, but the FCG had proved that predictions are not a matter and clinched the victory to their side.
The first Goal of the tournament was scored by the Spanish Attacker Ferran Corominas, the goal was easily scored by FC Goa when they deflected the corner short of CFC there were no defence in the CFC side this had created an impact to score Goal as Brandon, Corominas and Lanzorate was quickly ran in between Mailson and Sereno and scored the goal moved the ball in the right side wing the pass from Mandar had reached Pinherio he attempted a direct short but karanjit deflected with his body within a second Lanzorate’s touch had reached the goal. The earlier goals had made CFC to lose its confidence, this had made sereno and inigo to get down into attacking area as the opponent had taken the lead earlier, this lacks them and another opportunity to FCG the collision in the defence had been made easy to FCG to score another Goal, the Goal was Scored by Mandar Rao Desai he was the first Indian to score goal in this season, the goal was assisted by Bruno.

The Second half started with two changes in CFC, Mihelic out and Gregory Nelson came in & Bodo out Bikramjit came in, CFC was in full attacking mode after the first half even though the ball was more with the FCG players. CFC attackers and midfielders had forced the ball towards FC Goa side within the 3rd minute after the second half started Jeje had a chance to score but the ball had deflected after it had hitted the post and again the same was repeated to Gregory Nelson. At the 70th minute CFC had got a Free Kick it was taken by Inigo Calderon the ball had straightly reached the FCG GK Kattimani but the deflection from his hand made the ball to enter into the post. At the 84th minute the collision in the D-Box had made CFC to get a penalty it was taken by Raphael Augusto and he had turned it into a goal. After that both the teams had tried but no goal was on either side. Thus FCG had started this season with the victory.

The defeat of CFC was the Misunderstanding between the Defencers and GK another reason Karanjit was getting down from the post.
CFC will meet NEUFC at Chennai, on 23 November 2017 & FCG will meet MCFC in Mumbai on 25 November 2017.
