ISL 17/18: Sandesh Jhingan will lead the Men in Yellow
The ISL season 4 will kick off tomorrow as Kerala Blasters take on the defending champions ATK in their homeground Kochi, few moments ago Blasters has announced than Sandesh Jhingan will lead the Men in Yellow.
The Indian national team defender Sandesh Jhingan has been appointed as the captain of Kerala Blasters for the upcoming ISL season. He is with the Blasters form the inaugural season and is the most consistent player for Kerala Blasters with an appearance of 41 matches.
He player a major role in Kerala and helped his team reach finals twice in 3 years,his performance also earned him a place in the National team. Jhingan made his senior international debut for India against Nepal in the country’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, were he started the match and played the full ninety minutes as India won 2–0.
Jhingan is a versatile defender with an eye for goal, he scored his first international goal for India on 29 March 2016 against Turkmenistan but India failed to win that man and ended up losing it by 2–1. He had represented India for 16 games and continuing has scored a total of 6 goals.
This will be a great motivation for Indian Football as despite the presence of big names including Berbatov and Wes Brow, Rene has trusted the captain’s arm band to Sandesh Jhingan.
