Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City FC: All you need to know about this A-League match.
Brisbane Roar’s season isn’t going to plan at all at the moment. They picked up a point away from home to the out of form Melbourne Victory last weekend, but they remain without a win all season and find themselves bottom of the Hyundai A-League table almost a quarter of the way into the season.
The hosts have drawn three and lost three of their six matches, with two of their defeats coming in three home games as well. Not only that, but their three draws have all come against teams in the bottom half of the table, teams who were winless as well at the time of the match.
Melbourne City are not winless, although they do have some improvements to make if they are to continue their title challenge. They picked up a 1-1 draw at home to Western Sydney Wanderers last weekend to follow on from their home defeat against Sydney FC, but prior to that they were looking a very good team.
They have won four of their six league games, and with A-League leaders Sydney FC losing last weekend, the visitors will know that this is their chance to really put them under pressure. City are only a point behind them in the race for the top spot, so a win on Friday would take them to the top of the table, with Sydney FC still to play on Saturday.
Melbourne City have only played two away games this season, but both have ended in victory. They haven’t been against weak sides either, beating cross-city rivals Melbourne Victory very early on in the season and then resigning an in form Adelaide United to their first defeat of the season at the end of October.

Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City: Predictions
The Roar are an excellent home team and their struggles at the start of the new season has to be a temporary glitch. Besides, the team is coming on the back of a morale boosting draw away at last year’s finalist Melbourne Victory. Therefore, they are expected to end their win-less run at the expense of Melbourne City on Friday.
Given Brisbane Roar’s lack of performance this season we fancy the visitors to take all three points here, and backing them at over evens looks a fantastic price for us. We’re opting for that alongside a 2-1 correct score predictions.
