David Luiz To Real Madrid rumours are getting strong

Real Madrid are one of several clubs keen to take Chelsea defender David Luiz on loan in January.

The Brazilian was axed for Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend, failing to even make the bench for the crunch clash at Stamford Bridge.

While Antonio Conte claimed it was a tactical decision, there were reports over an alleged training ground spat, while the Italian called for him to improve his performances after the match.

And according to the Gambling Times, sources close to the club believe the 30-year-old could be allowed to leave in January.

They state Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all interested in loan moves and have made their feelings known to the Blues.

For now, Conte remains keen to keep the Brazilian in his plans for the second half of the season but it is unclear if Luiz would want out should he continue to be dropped.

The former PSG star is well aware of the need to be playing regular football if he wants to make Brazil’s World Cup squad for next summer’s tournament in Russia.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright already thinks Luiz will leave Chelsea for the second time in his career if Conte remains at the club.

“By the time next season kicks off, I’m sure that either Antonio Conte or David Luiz will have left Chelsea,” Wright said.

“Personally, I don’t believe Conte will still be in West London this time next year — you can tell by his demeanour that something is wrong.

“But if he does cling on to his job in West London then it’s hard to see Luiz being part of his plans.

“I don’t see the Brazilian being the kind of guy who will be happy to sit on the bench or in the stands.

“And it could very quickly become another problem for Conte if he does.”
