Alvaro Morata wants to emulate Jose Mourinho and win the league in Spain, Italy and England.

It was the Chelsea front man’s goal on Sunday that gave his team victory over Manchester United and he told Marca: ‘I have the challenge of winning the league in England, Italy and Spain.

‘That is my objective: win the Premier League and go down in history as the Spaniard who won the title in those three countries.’

Morata won La Liga last season with Real Madrid and has two Scudetto successes to his name from his time at Juventus.

He also says he is prepared to hang around to make it happen.

He said: ‘I don’t regret going to Chelsea, completely the opposite. I hope I can stay all the time [possible] at Chelsea.’

Morata has made Real Madrid look foolish for letting him leave in the summer.

He has seven league goals so far this season, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo have just one each back in La Liga.

The Chelsea forward, who will line up for his country on Saturday against Costa Rica, says it was the prospect of missing out on the World Cup that really pushed him over the edge in the Spanish capital.

‘I needed something that I was not going to have at Madrid – playing every Sunday regardless,’ he said.

‘Zidane said that I could stay but that there were a lot of options in attack. In the end I decided it was best to leave.

‘It is a World Cup year and that only happens every four years. I’m 25 and I want to be at that World Cup.’
