Matchday 12 : Serie A Round Up
Serie A’s exciting brand of football continues this weekend as it becomes more compact than ever with anyone of the big six having the opportunity to fetch for the title.

As Roma played out a six goals fest with Fiorentina at Florentine to keep their top place entry hope alive. In this auspicious clash, forward Gerson struck twice along with defender Manolas and mido Perroti to see off an improving eleven of the home side by 4-2. Talented Kid Giovanni, son of Atletico’s coach Diego Simeone, scored for the third successive game running but neither he nor Veretout converted their wonderful performance into a victory. Roma are just one point shy to move out of fifth place.
Juventus edge closer to regain their place at top of the points chart after serious pressure from pointless Benevento forced a comeback in Turin Stadion. The side who had lost all the 12 games so far in the season made the champions look childish in the beginning period of the game. They took a surprise lead in the 19th minute through Ciciretti’s strike shivering the spine of old lady’s defense. But Juventus tidy up in the second up when Higuain smashed his 102nd strike on the Italian soil. Juan Cuardado then grabbed the all important winner in the 65th minute to betray the away side’s first point on board.
Leaders Napoli astonishingly rupture their very winning mentality and surrendered to the compact defending of Chievo Verona in a goalless draw. The point gap which one time looked eight points to good now remain a just point to divide the top two. Napoli tops with 32 points but Juve are lurking with 31 points in their bag. Speaking about the game, both sides created little chances to test one another and it resulted in a no scoring contest.
Inter Milan missed a glorious chance to climb over Napoli to the supreme spot when they played a stalemate 1-1 draw with Torino. Napoli and Juventus underperforming was not seized upon as the away team went up ahead, Falque responding to Andrea Belloti’s pass in 59th minute. The fans in San Siro were relieved to see Eder on the score sheet in 79th minute otherwise it would had been worse for Luciano Spalleti’s men.
Ac Milan kept their chin up in their away venue with Sassuolo even after derby defeat to Juve with a comfortable 2-0 victory. Romagnoli scored the deserved opener before Suso struck in the next half to wrap up the three points. This kept Milan (19) in admiring distance with Sampdoria (23) in the sixth place.
Lazio were filled with vulgar before facing Udinese to keep up the challenge for the title but to their ill luck nature provided the unexpected barrier. Poor weather caused by storm and heavy rainfall disrupted the pitch condition prior to the kickoff. Unplayable surface caused the match to be called off for the day. It would be hard take for Lazio side eagerly waited for this game but they stayed on the fourth place with only Roma margining with a point.
In the bottom half of the chart, Bologna played out a five goals thriller with Crotone in which the away side at last profited from a cool finish by man of the match Budimir. He also scored the equiliser for his club after Verdi drafted the opening goal. He gathered his second minutes before the break but could not prevent Trotta to present the leveller once again for the visitors from the spot before Budmir’s last throw of the dice in 70th minute.
Sampdoria fulfilled their task confidently over Genoa defeating them 2-0. Ramirez provided the first finishing touch before Quagiliarella’s tenth strike of the tournament moved them to the Europa league spot on 6th.
Spal put up a determining fight over Atalanta forcing them to a 1-1 draw even after having a men send off for decent. Brawling Atalanta’s ship got caught in quick sand when Cristane’s opener was cancelled out by Rizzo.
Elsewhere, Cagiliari got better of Helas Verona by two goals to one. Ceppitelli and Farraggo both contributed to cut out early minute strike from Zuculini.
