Former Everton defender says, Burnley will lose their way if Sean Dyche leaves for Everton
Former Everton defender Joleon Lescott claims that Burnley may lose their way if Sean Dyche is appointed as next Everton manager.
The Toffees have been miserable to say the least this season, they are languishing in the relegation zone despite spending a lot of money on transfers. Manager Ronald Koeman was sacked and recently Everton also got knocked out of the Europa League after they lost against Lyon.
So the Toffees are looking for a new manager and Burnley maestro Sean Dyche is one of the favourites to take the job. Unlike Everton Burnley have been above expectation this season. The Clarets are currently sitting in 7th position just 3 points away from a Champions League spot.
So amid all these rumours former Everton defender Joleon Lescott said that Sean Dyche leaving Turf Moor will be a great loss for the Clarets and they may lose their way.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Lescott said: “I think it’s evident that Everton need a manager more than Sean Dyche needs a club.
“He’s doing well at Burnley, so it can only bode well for Everton if they get him but it could possibly derail Burnley if they lose a manager of that capacity.
“No one is going to discourage Dyche going to Everton. It’s a step-up and its progression, as much as Burnley are above them in the league overall you expect Everton to finish higher than Burnley.”
Sean Dyche has been in Burnley for 5 years and has received immense praise for the job he has done at Turf Moor. Burnley are currently placed 7th in the league table and they have really very impressive. So Sean Dyche’ departure will be a definite blow for the Lancashire club.
But things are still unclear as Everton has not yet announced Ronald Koeman’s successor.
