Gladbach : Thorgan Hazard is flying so is Borussia Monchengladbach, 4 wins in their last 6 Bundesliga fixtures with Thorgan Hazard scoring 3 goals in them. If we exclude the Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen match, Gladbach is doing quite well in the Bundesliga. Though Goal Difference is a thing to worry for Gladbach as they scored 16 and conceded 18 (we all know why that is, 1-6, 1-5), and your defense needs to work in big games if you want to get a Champions League spot atleast. Now team news is, Ibrahim Traore (hamstring) is again out with injury, and will remain on the sidelines for the year. Benes, Hofmann, Strobl, Bobadilla and Drmic also remain out through injuries. Though Hecking has multi options in attack to pick from as playmaker Vincenzo Grifo was back on previous MatchDay and was again doing his thing (assist). So it’s expected Hecking will start with the same line up that started against Hoffenheim.
Possible line up – Gladbach (4-2-2-2) : Sommer; Elvedi, Ginter, Vestergaard, Wendt; Kramer, Zakaria; Grifo, Stindl; Hazard, Raffael.
I as a Bundesliga enthusiast first thought that Mainz won’t do good this season as they let go of their key players in recent years and the exclusion of Yunus Malli (joined Wolfsburg in winter last season) was really a disaster for them, alongwith the exclusion of Jhon Cordoba (joined Koln in the summer) too. Not going into Loris Karius and Julian Baumgartlinger. But according to their standards they have been doing well, placed in 13th position after 10 MatchDays with 11 points, scoring 11 times conceding 16, average = 1 point per game. But this needs to improve as Bundesliga has the best mid and bottom table fight in the World, you can’t take a team taken as granted as a relegation candidate (look at Werder Bremen last season). Now team news is, Sandro Schwarz will be without 1st choice goalie Rene Adler once again, so young Zentner will deputise as he did against Rhine-Main Derby team Eintracht Frankfurt. Onisiwo, Bungert and Holtmann also remain out through injuries.
Possible line up – Mainz (4-1-2-2-1) : Zentner; Donati, Bell, Diallo, Brosinski; Gbamin; Frei, Latza; Öztunali, De Blasis; Muto.
