Reuben Loftus cheek, Tammy Abraham, Angel Gomez recieve call ups ; Winks retains his place while Wilshere misses out

Chelsea loanees Ruben Loftus Cheek , Tammy Abraham and Liverpool’s Joe Gomez all recieved their first England call ups for the upcoming international friendlies.

The England manager’s selection has indicated that he is prepared to give young players a chance to stake a place in the squad for the tournament in Russia next summer.

Both Tammy Abraham and Loftus-Cheek are young Chelsea players out on loan at Swansea City and Crystal Palace respectively and remarkably have broken into the England senior squad even before they have become first team regulars at their parent Premier League club.

Joe Gomez , the current England U21’s captain has forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad following some impressive performances for Liverpool this season.

Ashley Young meanwhile earns a recall to the squad, four years after he last represented his country.

The most high-profile players to be dropped are Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge, while there is no place in the squad for Arsenal’s fit-again Jack Wilshere.

Loftus-Cheek, 21, has struggled with injury since joining Palace on loan but is back in Roy Hodgson’s side and enjoying the first sustained run of Premier League games of his career

Abraham, 20, has four goals in the Premier League this season after a prolific campaign for Bristol City in the Championship in the previous season. He has established himself as a first choice in Paul Clement’s side.

England will face Brazil and Germany in their next two international friendlies.
