Real title contenders Brazil might have parted ways with their road to finals after a shock defeat to eventual champions England a couple of nights ago, but that didn’t stop them from losing momentum as they emerged 2-0 victorious over a stressed Mali side to seal the third spot, after Spain in this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India.
After a glittering closing ceremony in the Yuva Bharati Krirangan Stadium in the heart of the country’s football enthusiasts Kolkata, Brazil looked in composure throughout the match, creating all types of problems for the Mali defence.
With the whole game tilted towards Brazil for a majority of time, second half goals from Alan (56’) and Yuri Alberto (88’) helped the South American footballing nation write their names on the history books yet again after displaying absolutely ruthless and strong ball-play giving the fans enough hope to remain very much excited for the years to come.
A special note of mention for Brazilian goalie Gabriel Brazao who was also voted the tournament’s best shot-stopper and awarded the prestigious Adidas Golden Glove for his greater influence on his nation’s games. Brazil were also awarded the FIFA Fair Play award for their controlled aggression and good behaviour towards all their opponents.
Here’s hoping all these young stars make it really significant in the days to come and make Brazil a real-dominating footballing force by the virtue of their splendid performances.
