Manchester City and West Brom are set to lock horns at the Hawthorns. West Brom would be willing to cause an upset by beating title favourites Manchester City whereas Pep Guardiola’s men will try to maintain their firm grip on top spot and to end gameweek 10 on a winning note.
Pressure is high on Pep Guardiola to lead his side to Premier League glory this time after enduring a frustrating trophyless last season, the first of it’s kind in his managerial career. City have started this season brightly with a 2-0 win over newbies Brighton in Premier League. A draw against Everton in gameweek 2 halted their progress a little bit. But they are back in form now after edging past Bournemouth by 2-1 in gameweek 3 courtesy to a 97th minute winner by Raheem Sterling and 5-0 thrashing of Liverpool in gameweek 4. And their fine run continued with an emphatic 6-0 win over Watford at the Vicarage Road.
They further intensified their ambition with a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace and a statement making 1-0 win away at the Stamford Bridge. They demolished Stoke City 7-2 at the Etihad and beat a determined Burnley side 3-0 last week.
West Brom, on the other hand, will step up in gameweek 10 with disastrous results in their kitty. They have done quite a decent job at the start but a sudden drop of form currently saw them standing at the 13th position of the league table. Tony Pulis knows it would be very difficult for his side to keep this Manchester City side under control.

Manchester City and West Brom have met 22 times in the Premier League era with Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion came up as the winning side 15 times and 4 times respectively, the rest of the 3 matches ended in stalemate. Last season City beat West Bromwich Albion both of the legs, 3-1 at the Etihad and 4-0 at the Hawthorns. They have already met once this season at the Carabao Cup with City edged past the Baggies by 2-1.
Manchester City are flying high in this moment whereas West Brom are lacking confidence after their recent results. Pulis knows his side can pull off an upset if they are enough focused. But West Brom would find it very hard to stop a defeat considering the kind of form Guardiola’s men are going through. I will go with 2-0 in favour of Manchester City.
