Mali goes one on one against Brazil in the match for the 3rd place of the FIFA u-17 World Cup this Saturday in Kolkata. Mali who surprised everyone by reaching the final in 2015, reached the semis beating Iraq and Ghana in the qualifying rounds but couldn’t stand a chance in front of the Europeans and went on to lose 1:3 against Spain. 3 time champions Brazil on the other hand reached the semis beating Honduras and European giants Germany in the knockout rounds. Although they were favourites to win this competition, they were taken apart by the mighty English side in a match which ended 1:3. Both these sides have never faced each other before so it will be an interesting match to witness. So here are the 5 players to watch out in this encounter.

1. Lassana Ndiaye(Mali):

Lassana Ndiaye is a centre forward who plays for the Mozambique side GD Maputo. He scored 6 goals in this competition which includes the decider against New Zealand in a 3:1 win and a brace against Iraq in the round of 16 which ended 5:1. He also scored 1 goal against Spain in the semi finals but that was not enough. This 17 year old forward man is just 1 goal short of becoming the top goal scorer of this competition so he would like to get into the score sheet against the mighty South Americans.

2. Paulinho(Brazil):

Paulinho is a right winger who plays for the Brazilian first tier side Vasco da Gama. Known for scoring some great goals, he has scored three goals in the competition this year which includes a winner against Spain in first half stoppage time and the winner against the mighty German side with incredible shot outside the box which took them in the semi finals of the competition. Paulinho will be looking forward to this match and we might expect to see some great goals from him.

3. Lincoln(Brazil):

Lincoln is a centre forward who plays for the Brazilian side Flamengo’s u-20 squad. He scored Brazil’s first goal in the competition after Wesley put the ball into his own net against Spain. He later scored against North Korea and Niger with a total of 3 goals. The Top scorer spot being almost impossible for the striker, he will like to show some performance today against the 2015 runners up.

4. Brenner(Brazil):

Brenner is a Secondary Striker who plays for the Brazilian and South American giants Sao Paolo. He scored 3 goals in the competition this year in which one was the decider against Niger and later he scored a brace against Honduras. He will be looking forward to the game creating chances for his side or getting into the score sheet as well.

5. Djemoussa Traore(Mali):

Djemoussa Traore is a left midfielder who plays for the Malian club AS Bakaridjan. He scored 3 goals in the competition this season. He gave his side the lead against Turkey scoring in the 38th minute, scored Mali’s second against New Zealand and scored the decider against Ghana. He will also be looking forward to this game against the South American giants.
