Sevilla revive form as they defeat minnows in CDR
A dominant performance by Sevilla away from home at Estadio Cartagonova was enough to see them through to the next round in the competition. Facing a high-flying FC Cartagena side, Sevilla fielded their B-team and were victorious by a healthy three goal margin. Winning the game 0-3, the Sevilla boss was finally relieved after strings of poor performances in both La Liga and the Champions League.
Sevilla struck early, in the 25th minute after a left-footed Pablo Sanabria shot from the right side flew past the keeper to the centre of the goal. The next goal followed just 10 minutes later when Argentine sensation Joaquin Correa netted a rather simple goal receiving a good ball from fellow mate Ganso.
Sevilla struck again in the beginning of the second half, in the 51st minute after Luis Muriel scored the last one for the visitors assisted by Ganso yet again.
This is Sevilla’s first victory after three consecutive loses which saw them drop crucial points in both La Liga and the European Championships. Sevilla next welcome Leganes next match-day in what could be a real test to check their form-redemption.
