Following Roma’s 3-3 come from behind in a thriller against Premier league champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in the champions league Roma would return to league play.

Coming off a narrow lost to Napoli in their least game in the league to Romans would look to get back in winning ways as they would travel to the Stadio Grande Torino to take on Torino in Turin.
Torino came into the match the injury crisis been with out their star Striker Andrea Belotti which will give Roma a huge advantage.
Roma split their two games with Torino a season ago but Roma have a pretty outstanding track record against Torino being unbeaten in the last 14 of the last 15 meeting between the two sides. It was important for Roma to do their job given how competitive Serie A has been this season as they kicked off their 8th match of this years serie a campaign.
The first half was rather dull Torino played scared and just tried to park the bus. There was very little action in the first half there were a few shots here and their but nothing solid.
In the second half the game began to open up a little bit as Roma started getting into good space to score but the later it got the more it looked like it was going to be a draw Roma was after it but were contained.
Late in the game with about 20 odd minutes to go Roma were given a free kick in a dangerous area. Aleksandar Kolarov blasted a free kick top corner to give Roma the 1-0 lead late.
Roma would get a few more chances but the lone goal was enough as Roma get back into winning ways it wasn’t pretty but in this years title race a win is a win taking Roma to 18 points with a game back Kolarov saves the day once again for Roma.
In what many would of thought would have been a much bigger score line the two sides battled it in a slightly dull game. Kolarov’s free kick ultimately saving the day for Roma leaving it very late as the Roman pulled off a very narrow victory against a team that just doesn’t have anywhere near the quality that Roma has.
Not only that but, Torino were without their best player Andréa Belotti who isn’t just a key part of the team; he is the team without him Torino are hopeless.
As far is the game goes Torino’s objective was clear from the very beginning they were playing for the draw. They were trying to park the bus to get the point something they eventually failed for Torino this strategy made it very difficult for Roma to score because their initial reaction is to defend this made the game very dull. Roma weren’t great today but they went after it when ever they could.
I don’t actually have a problem with the way Torino played, but I think you should always play for the win. Torino didn’t really attack Roma goal at all Alisson didn’t even see one shot on target.
This wasn’t an amazing performance by Roma either but when the chance came Kolarov delivered he really is turning into such a great signing at 5 million this is looking like a robbery.
My Man of the Match goes to Aleksandar Kolarov with his free kick he brought down Torino’s defensive wall to give Roma the three points.
In the late stages of the game Roma had a few more chances due to Torino being foced to open up which left them a little bit exposed. Cengiz Under got another run out late on its very important for him to give some run out this kid is going to be star for the club so its very important for him to given a chance to develop.
Roma also in this game had a very good defensive game plan. Hector Moreno did well during his first Roma start as slipped into his role vacated by injured Kostas Manolas. He looked very confrontable I hope to see him get more solid minutes as the season progresses. A rather ugly win but in this season all the points count.
