Barcelona faced the struggling Malaga side in the Nou Camp in the matchday 9 as the league leaders looking forward to extend their
unbeaten run. With the recent form taking into consideration it was not that much hard for the catalan side to edge past Malaga.

It was always the first rule for away sides in the Nou camp to keep the shap against Barca in the opening miniutes but in the second miniute
Gerard Deulofeu scored a controversial opening goal to give Barcelona the all important lead.

Lucas Digne’s initial cross was blocked by Malaga defender Roberto Rosales, and the ball appeared to cross the line out of play before Digne regathered it and sent it again for Deulofeu to flick home.

Malaga complained the ball had crossed the line, but the goal stood and that proved to be very very costly for the bottom side.It was looking like the momentum will now move towards Barca as it is very very difficult to comeback after conceding an early goal in Nou camp.

Barca took the control of midfield as always. However Malaga defence stood strong after the early sitback and gave Barca attackers a very very tough time.Leo Messi tried to cut through the defence with his classic solo runs and one two passes with team mates but it was ultimately failed in opposition half.

The rest of the first half was dull, with Malaga coming close when Chory Castro headed wide and Messi striking the wall with a free-kick as Barcelona couldn’t break the visitors down.

However Messi broke through in the 56th minute on the edge of the box, feeding Iniesta who saw his strike deflected into the top corner to double Barcelona’s lead. The 33-year old magician still showing his quality and ability to perform when it matters most.

However there are negatives to take from this encounter too in terms of Barcelona as striker Luiz Suarez got another bad day by missing the clear oppurtunity.

It should have been 3-0 in the 74th minute when Sergi Roberto burst forward and played the ball across to Luis Suarez, but the Uruguayan somehow missed what looked to be an easy tap-in.

But there are positives to take too. Some players would have been thrown off their game by being removed ‘unfairly’, like Deulofeu was on Wednesday when Barcelona were reduced to 10 men and he was picked as the fall guy by Valverde.

However the winger looks like he really wants to make a fist of it this season, even though most reasonably doubted he would be able to have much of a role beyond occasional super-sub.

Deulofeu struck his first goal for the club in his 16th appearance, the first of which came back in 2011.

Lucas Digne started his Barcelona career well last season but struggled to force his way past Jordi Alba and more or less disappeared from the scene during the latter stages.

However thanks to Alba’s thigh injury he started in the Champions League against Olympiakos and again here, helping Barcelona break the deadlock.

Although the ball was out of play before he crossed it in, Digne didn’t give up and his cut-back was turned in neatly by Deulofeu.

If there was one aspect of his game which could have been improved, it was his work in attacking areas—and it looks like he’s doing better at that now.Umtiti has become Barcelona’s key defender, showing his class and ability.

Now it remains to see how will Valverde’s men will go through the season with all these positives and negatives.
