East Bengal fills their foreigner quota by roping in former Bagan star
Kingfisher East Bengal finally finds their sixth and final foreign recruit for the upcoming season of I-League. Amidst widespread speculations of who would be the replacement of Mitchell, the Red and Gold rope in Eduardo Ferreira to bolster their defence.
Negotiations were going on between Eduardo and the officials of East Bengal for sometime.They were also negotiating with Pathachakra’s Defender Victor Kamukha.Also Nato’s biodata was submitted to the club officials but they finally decided to sign Eduardo for I-league. Eduardo has the experience of playing both in I-league and ISL.
East Bengal will field six foreigners at the beginning of the I-league 2017/18 season.
Earlier it was observed that the Red and Gold Brigade had a habit of not fulfilling the foreigners quota on time. But this time they did it on time.
Al-Amna,Willis Plaza,Katsumi Yusa and Charles have already signed for the Red-Gold Brigade. Former I-league Champion Kamo’s brother and Rainbow’s Midfielder Bajo was signed as the sixth foreigner somedays back. But due to Mitchell’s injury, East Bengal signed Eduardo as his replacement. Edu will reach Kolkata on Sunday.
