Barcelona To Hold Meeting With Coutinho’s Agent Next Week
Barcelona are set to hold meeting with Phillipe Coutinho’s agent next week as they look to push for a January move for the Brazilian international.
Barcelona were determined to secure Coutinho in the summer but the deal couldn’t go through as Liverpool held on to their star midfielder. Later, in a press conference, Jürgen Klopp said, “There is no price limit to let him go or a price that we are ready to give in,”
Since then, the 25-year-old has re-emerged as an integral part of the club, scoring twice in his first four Premier League appearances while also scoring a goal in Liverpool’s record 7-0 victory over Maribor in the Champions League.
Today, Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona will hold a meeting with Coutinho’s agents next week. According to the report, Coutinho is operating on a ‘short-term solution’ with Liverpool, for whom he would play until the January window before moving to the Camp Nou.
Initially considered as a replacement for Neymar, Coutinho’s failed move prompted Barcelona to sign Ousmane Dembélé for a record £198 million. However, a hamstring injury will keep the French international out until the end of December.
