AIFF meet at Delhi, notify important decisions taken through press release
AIFF League Committee today met at the AIFF Headquarters, the Football House to give nod to a number of significant decisions.
Mr. Subrata Datta headed the League Committee meeting joined by the representatives of I-League clubs, FSDL and Star Sports.
The committee gave a formal consent to the format of the 2nd division league which would consist of 20 teams. Out of the 20 clubs fighting for the glory, 12 teams will be from different states and other 8 will be reserve teams of 8 Hero Indian Super League clubs.
The committee also informed all the attendants that 2nd division clubs can sign at max 3 foreign players including one from Asian quota. Out of the registered 3, only 2 players can play together at the same time.
The AIFF committee also put Hero I-League fixture up for discussion. They have asked all the participating clubs to share their thoughts, infrastructure and preparedness of the teams within 72 hours to settle for a final schedule.
