Liverpool registered their first win of this year’s champions league campaign as they blasted past Maribor 7-0.

The Slovenia side were no match for Jurgen Klopp’s men as the Premier League visitors were three goals to the good within 19 minutes.

Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah all struck within the opening 20 minutes, while the latter added his second of the evening six minutes before the interval.

Klopp’s Brazilian duo were not finished there though, as Coutinho set up Firmino to head home the fifth shortly after the break.

There was enough time left even for new man Alex oxlade Chamberlain to score his first goal for the reds before Trent Alexander Arnold rounded off a comfortable victory with a long range effort.

With Spartak Moscow relegating Sevilla into third spot, Liverpool know a win in the return fixture in a fortnight will keep Klopp’s side in control of their destiny.
