Jurgen Klopp on Barcelona’s latest attempt to snatch Philippe Coutinho
After the dissapointing transfer window the La liga giants Barcelona have recently showed interest to sign the talented Brazilian. It’s looking like the La Liga outfit won’t give up on the Brazilian just yet. The La Liga leaders failed in their summer-long pursuit of the Brazil international as the Reds rejected a final offer of £118million in August. However, Barca’s chief executive Oscar Grau declared this week “we are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market”.
Barca have other sets of target too but li looks like Coutinho is their main priority.Coutinho has knuckled down in recent weeks and committed himself to the cause. The player himself wanted the move to happen but the circumstances didn’t favoured him last time.
The 25-year-old goes into Saturday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United on a high after netting in three successive matches.“There is another transfer window in January, we cannot change this,” said Klopp, when asked about Grau’s comments.
“I have nothing to say about it. It is an open window. Maybe a few players will change in the future, I have no clue.
“At this moment I am really not interested in the January window. I read a lot about Barcelona in the last few days but it was all about the referendum.
“Nothing about football. In my opinion they have other problems at the moment rather than what transfers they can make in January.”
