Valencia eyeing Man City prodigy?
Spanish giants Valencia are in talks to sign Manchester City academy player Pablo Maffeo. The Spanish U-21 left back was highly admired after his stellar performance marking Messi during their tie against Barcelona. Messi was also reported to enquire of the player and ask him if he was from Manchester City.
Newly promoted Girona FC have made a shaky start to their campaign but the Spanish loanee seems to catch quite a few eyes in the market. Even Juventus was reported to ask for his availability. Maffeo has made six appearances out of the possible seven in the team’s quest to compete in Spain’s most decorated league. The 20-year old has won 66.67% of the tackles he has been involved in and also has a decent passing percentage of 73%.
Valencia will be wanting to tempt the teenager to move into their squad and make him a regular starter in near future. What needs to be seen now is how Man City face this situation as the arrival of Walker means a hindrance in Maffeo’s promotion into the first team.
