Òscar Grau: We will bid for Coutinho in January
On Wednesday afternoon, speaking at the club’s annual financial turnover event, Òscar Grau made it clear that the club would be willing to sign Phillipe Coutinho come the January transfer window.
Even though Liverpool are adamant on keeping the Brazilian, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported that Coutinho has an agreement with Liverpool that will allow him to leave the club in January.
“We are ready to sign Coutinho, or any other player, in January,” Òscar explained at a press conference in which the financial turnover for the 2016-17 season was made public.
“Even if clubs don’t wish to sell, we would definitely be willing to try if the board decide that a player is needed.”
“The club is in a position to give them the best team possible, which is what we want,” he added.
Meanwhile, Barcelona announced a predicted record revenue of €897 million for the current season, an increase of €189 million on last season, thanks in part to Neymar’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
“We’re presenting figures for this season which are the highest of any club in the world,” Òscar said. “No other teams — not even in the NBA or the NFL — reach these numbers.
