Following the announcement of Barcelona’s budget forecast for the 2017/18 campaign, club CEO Oscar Grau claimed Barcelona’s spending capability as the biggest in European football.

While the 53-year-old added that NBA and NFL teams wouldn’t be able to match the finances of the Catalan team, it is certain that no Champions League rival are budgeting as highly as Barcelona.

However, one factor that may be playing a large role is that the LaLiga team add in money made from player sales, such as the 222 million euros banked from selling Neymar, which most other teams do not account for.

This will be a great boost for the club as they will be spending big money in the upcoming transfer windows.

Following the powerful economy of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United are Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain as the Premier League takes up four of the top ten slots.

Atletico Madrid are the other Spanish representative in the upper rung of financial ladder of the continent, boasting a budget of 343m euros compared to the Blaugrana’s 897m euros.

Barcelona still searching for the replacement to fillup the void left by Xavi and aging Iniesta.

Based on the current inflation in market the new board members will have to take the necessary steps to offload players and make a fresh team and also saving money by promoting youth team players.
