Manchester City, PSG and Barcelona in three-way battle for Porto midfielder
Barcelona have joined Manchester City and PSG to sign highly rated Portuguese international midfielder Danilo Pereira.
Pep Guardiola seems to be a fan of the Portuguese midfielder Danilo but decided not pursue the midfielder this summer only because he had other priority areas needed to be addressed first. PSG have also been in hunt of a defensively solid player to replace aged Thiago Motta and added Danilo, 26, as their first name on the priority list. But, due to the acquisitions of Neymar and Mbappe they refrained away from lodging any official offer.
With both PSG and Manchester City are set to go head-to-head to secure Danilo’s services, Barcelona have also joined the fray according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo. Barcelona are in the market for a midfielder with almost similar traits like Busquets and they are pretty much confident that Danilo fits the bill perfectly.
A strong physical character, Danilo has immense technical qualities as well as he is equally comfortable on the ball. This makes him a perfect fit for teams who like to keep possession like City and Barcelona.
Although three teams are after Danilo, there won’t be any bidding war as Porto have already made it clear to Danilo’s suitors that the team who will pay €60m release clause of the midfielder will have his bragging rights.
