Huge blow for India ahead of their crucial clash against Ghana on Thursday
The Indian U17 football time has some unhappy news in their corridor with defender Anwar Ali set to miss out the all important battle against Ghana on 12th of October. The center back sustained an ankle injury against Colombia in the last game and had to be substituted minutes after India coincided for the second time of the game in 2-1 loss. Anwar Ali was magnificent in that game and his absence will surely be missed.
As reported, Anwar was seen using icepacks on his injury now and then while returning to team’s hotel. He even limped and hopped at times amidst the pain in the hotel corridor which makes his situation even more serious than it was expected. But even after getting sidelined at the vital moment of the tournament, Anwar extended his support to his teammates and wish they could feel up his void.
” We played really well against Colombia. It will help us perform well against Ghana in the last group game. The team is ready to take the challenge against Ghana but I don’t know whether I could play in that game.”
Anwar is an intregal part of the defense and his loss would cause changes in the role at the back. Mantos is reaching out perfect replacement for him but hasn’t confirmed who will take up his place. Anwar is that type of character to rely upon. He looks like Junior Sandesh Jhinghan with that hair style. He also behaves like him playing well structure long balls upfront and going for difficult interceptions and hard tackles that indicates his sparkling future. Inspired by Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, the defender at times like to charge at the top of the field to head on set pieces. The whole nation is therefore giving full support for the fast recovery of this influential character on the pitch.
