But a penalty goal on the 55th minute from Alan Rodriguez helped Paraguay to gather all possible points from the match.
Stars to watch out for:
1)Antonio Galeano: The Paraguái striker scored Paraguay’s first goal in this competition. He is exactly in the right place at the right time. Few sources show that he is linked with Chelsea and will be a player of the English team after the World Cup campaign is over. The Paraguái coach Gustavo Moringo expects a lot from him and he would like him to deliver today against the OFC Champions.
2)Leonardo Sanchez: He is the all-time highest scorer for the Paraguái U-17 team in all competitions netting 18 goals from 23 matches. He plays Nacional Asunción U-19 team in Paraguay and hopes to sign for European giants Shalke 04 next summer. His goal for Paraguay against Mali proved to be crucial in the win. All eyes will be on him today when he gets the ball.
3)Brian Ojeda: The role of the Guarani central midfielder has always seemed important for the team. He was one of the main man in his team’s win over Mali on Friday. He covered a distance of 9.71 kilometres in the match and had a passing accuracy of 88% which keeps him in this list.
4)Elijah Just: The Kiwi midfielder proved his talent in their opening match against Turkey. New Zealand sets on a counter attack whenever Just has the ball in the midfield. He plays a pivotal role in the team and also has the quality of falling deep below when the team is under attack. His tackling quality also helps him to retrieve the ball from the opponent in the midfield. He will be one of the main man to watch out for today.
5)Boyd Curry: The Kiwi defender is calm and cool as a cucumber. He knows how to deal with strikers in different situations. He has only committed 37 fouls till date and received 4 yellow cards. His speed allows him to make a darting run dissecting the field. He is also good in headers in the rival penalty box and has scored 9 goals from 28 matches for the Kiwi U-17 team.
