World Cup Qualifier: All You Need To Know About Bulgaria vs France
Didier Deschamps’s France meet Bulgaria at their home to get all important three points to name themselves in the World Cup cup next year.
Ferocious home form of the Bulgarians may provide barriers to the star studded French team but in the words of Deschamps, they are fearless to obtain the points which will carry them to the mega competition staged at Russia next year.
France will be willing to avoid any more slip up in the fixture with Sweden and Netherlands breathing on their shoulders. Luxembourg provided a hard enough test to complete in the previous game holding them to a 0-0 scoreline in which the European championship runners up almost presented the first place to Sweden. Nothing of such dilemma will be accepted here as France cannot afford to lose any ground against Bulgaria with their immense quality on the pitch. Prior to their game, Sweden face Luxemborg and Netherlands fancy points in their trip to Belarus with pressure reaching on its highest tone. The congested situation can only be cleared if France secures three points tonight.
Any distortion in the previous away fixture will be the first motive for Deschamps to rectify. The 48 year old had brought out a brilliant merging of experience and young feet in the squad which looks very decisive. Their responsibility doubles up tonight with major absentees troubling the dressing room. Paul Pogba’s absent call was already made after his hamstring injury was reported to be long term. Adding to the list, Benjamin Mendy is out of action till April with a calf problem. Recently, left back Kurzawa’s injury has put him into major doubt to start. But still the squad looks dangerous with starlet Mbappe leading the forward line. He is the key player ahead of Griezmann and Giroud because of his improvising talent and for his form with his club PSG recently. With Neymar and Cavani now his compatriots, Mbappe had became deadlier than ever. His goal scoring ability is the one can change the whole complextion of the game. Thomas Lemar would repeat his performance against Netherlands in last month aiding his former teammate to perform his job.
But the pressure is surely there and for Deschamps it is the learning period of his young squad to battle on major platforms. The French boss admitted, “Sincerely I do not feel any special pressure. I take care of my players in the best conditions. This is an important game and we have to compete bravely to achieve the goals of ours.”
Bulgaria caused real misery for France in their previous meetings. Their opposition even have collected 12 points in their home giving nightmares to the rest of the big hitters like Sweden and Netherlands also crushing fellow strugglers Luxembourg and Belarus. Bulgaria is entirely depended on Ivelin Popov’s ruthless goal hungry attitude. Their center forward is renounced for sneaking into pockets and delivering a lethal finish. For him Bulgaria has managed to score in seven of eight in the qualifying including three past Sweden and even scoring the first goal against their latest opposition in 3-1 defeat at Stade De France. Their coach Peter Hubchev,”Bulgaria is not a world power and it will be difficult for us to qualify. We do not talk about what happened in two wins. Our behavior is serious. We’re trying to keep the focus on something big.”
