Inter Milan making move for Manchester City defender
Italian giants Inter Milan are set to revive their interest on Eliaquim Mangala.
French centre-back Mangala joined the Blue half of Manchester for an astonishing £42m from Portuguese club Porto in 2014 but failed miserably in the Premier League. Earlier this summer, Guardiola tried to offload the Frenchman.
Inter wanted Mangala on a loan deal but City were only willing to sell him on a permanent basis. Mangala also rejected approaches from Stoke City and Spartak Moscow. City did get an unexpected £23m offer from fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace for Mangala on deadline day but the 26-year-old knocked back the chance to join the Selhurst Park side.
Mangala still remains an unwanted figure at the Etihad getting just 19 minutes of Premier League action till now. With Guardiola set to go all out for Jonny Evans in January again, Mangala must find a new club.
Now according to our sources and also according to reports by some Italian media outlets, Inter Milan have reignited their interest on Mangala after talks with the Frenchman’s agent Jorge Mendes. Inter’s fourth choice centre-back Belgian Zinho Vanheusden is sidelined for a long time after suffering cruciate ligament injury and the Nerazzurri want Mangala to replace him. But due to financial restrictions, Inter are only willing to offer a loan deal which might not be tempting enough for Manchester City.
