Mizoram Police sacks their coach and hires last season’s finalist to salvage their campaign
The Mizoram Premier League is on full-flow. The eight-team tournament is slowly reaching it’s business end as the competition is getting more heated with every passing round.
The heat is being reflected off the field equally as the first sacking letter of this season’s MPL has been put forth, by Mizoram Police FC. With only one point from five matches, Mizoram Police FC have sacked their head coach Tialthawnga after a dismal run in the competition. He will be replaced by last season’s finalist coach Lalbiaksanga Colney (BSa).
BSa was head of the Bethlehem Vengthlang FC team last season who finished second in MPL last season.
After five rounds, Mizoram Police is lying at the bottom of the table with only one draw and four losses from five matches. They managed to score 6 times while the opponents managed to find their net 18 times already! The conceding rate of 3.6 goals per match reflects their serious signs of worry in the back line.
The coach was under the scanner since their initial hiccups and after the 6-1 loss to Aizawl, the management decided to part ways with Tialthawnga. The first assignment of the new coach would be the match against Chanmari West FC in Round 6 of MPL.
