Portuguese holding midfielder William Carvalho has been scouted by quite a few big clubs this summer after his successful spell at Sporting Clube de Portugal. West Ham, Man City and a host of other top teams have been admirers of the 25-year old for quite sometime now.
Several agencies including The Mirror, Daily Mail and the Sun have reported that West Ham co-owner David Sullivan have openly criticised the Sporting board for backing off at the last minute in the 2017 summer transfer window. Carvalho is still believed to join West Ham coming January provided the clubs can finally strike a deal for the player.

Slaven Bilic still wants the muscular midfielder to form a strong pair with Cheikhou Kouyate and challenge the top teams for glory. Luanda-born Carvalho is a long known admirer of the Premier League and has expressed his desire to play in England for quite sometime now.
Carvalho has earlier enjoyed successful loan spells at Fatima (2011) and Cercle Brugge (2012-13) before being a permanent starter at the Portuguese club. He has already started the season on a great note, appearing in 4 matches out of the 7 matches played and assisting a goal. Sporting Lisbon now sit 2nd on the Liga NOS Portugal standings.

With Carvalho eager to move to England and Bilic hungry to steal his man and transfer the Hammers into a world-class side, it would be interesting to see where the Portuguese Euro Cup winner finds his new home in coming transfer window.
