RB Leipzig v/s Eintracht Frankfurt Match Review
RB Leipzig returned to winning ways this weekend as they managed a 2-1 victory over Frankfurt at home. Leipzig had earlier lost to Augsburg while Frankfurt lost their momentum today, winning their earlier encounter 0-1 away against FC Koln.
RB Leipzig now stand 6th while Eintracht are struggling at 10th on the Bundesliga table after game-week 6.
20-year old French youngster Jean-Kevin-Augustin opened the scoring after 28 minutes after he banged in a right footed bullet from the left side of the six yard box to the centre of the goal.
Leipzig enjoyed a healthy possession rate and that lead to their second when star-boy Timo Werner’s right footer reached the bottom left of the net at the 67th minute. Werner has netted 5 times already in the six matches he has played and remains Leipzig’s go-to man this year too.
Frankfurt did sore a consolation goal at 77th minute when Marius Wolf’s cross found Croatian Ante Rebic whose right footed effort found the back of the net.
Leipzig will now fly to Turkey to face Besiktas for the Champion’s League group stage match on 27th of September while Frankfurt welcome VfB Stuttgart for a Bundesliga clash next weekend.
