For those agents and clubs hoping that they will be able to attract the best talent, their hopes have been left up in the air.
The 21 players who will carry the Indian national flag in their team’s crest in the U-17 World Cup will not be available for signing by any agent.

Not only that the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has also put up clauses for ISL and I-League teams as well, they also cannot sign any player from the India U-17 squad.

A senior AIFF official informed:

“We have put in a clause in the contracts of all our age group teams that they cannot sign with any club or agent without our permission.”

AIFF is implementing all these rules because of the development of these youngsters. AIFF wants the U-17 team to play together in te I-League next seasons, which will help them improved their playing quality and trust on each other. Thus this is a step taken towards developement of Indian Football by the AIFF.
