Serie A: Benevento vs AS Roma Match Preview
After a short week Roma Preparing for another match day heading on the Road to face Benevento In Roma’s big 3-0 Win against Newcomers Hellas Verona on Saturday we saw a proper performance for Eusebio Di Francesco’s men as we saw Roma at their very best.
Date: Wednesday 20th September 2017
Venue: Stadio Ciro Vigorito
Kickoff: 11:00 PM (USA), 5:00PM (ENG), 6:00PM (ITA)

Di Francesco made the adjustments necessary in a performance of utter domination making four changes from the week before. It worked wonders as we saw an inspired attack and a team with great chemistry. Roma have won two out of three games in Serie A to start the season as could argue that it should of been 3 out of 3 if it wasn’t for the poor referring against Inter Milan. After their big win Roma will travel to Stadio Ciro Vigorito to take on another newly promoted side 20th place bottom of the pile Benevento who has failed to win a single game having lost all four games they have played as they look to really struggled this season. Roma and Benevento has never played each other this will be their first meeting between them. Roma is without of doubt in better form having won 3 out of 5 while Benevento have lost 5 in a row.
Roma looked like a different team last week the inclusion of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Cengiz Under who both got their first starts for the club since arriving this summer not to mention El Shaarawy getting into the starting 11 something which was a very wise decision. EL Shaarawy made a major impact in the game and Pellegrini and Under also had their hands all over the game a great performance that came down to the changes and lets not forget the return of Alexandro Florenzi who was instrumental as well the changes made all the difference. Roma should lineup with almost the same team they don’t need to rock a sailing ship.
There however will be one change Radja Nainggolan wont be featured in the team due to an minor injury but the Belgium international should be ready for this weekend against Undinese. Schick will also be out still trying to recover from his thigh injury. I think either Kevin Strootman or Diego Perotti will be likely to replace him I would like Perotti personally because I think a team that features speedy players such as Under, El Shaarawy and Perotti not to mention they have Dzeko scoring the goals for them could be very dangerous on the counter attack outside of Radja Nainggolan I expect them to stay close to the same team that had great success against Verona.
As far as the game itself I still do find it hard to believe that Roma will be challenged at all in this game Benevento the new comers are finding life very hard in the Serie A thus far. They don’t have a team that can remotely challenge one Serie A’s best teams through four league games they have conceded 10 goals and scored just once as well as losing 4-0 in the Coppa Italia 3rd round to Perugia a team in Serie B so through five games they have scored one goal conceded 14 it just look like they are going to have a very hard time getting points this season. Even without Nainggolan Roma will still likely rip them to shreds this Roma team doesn’t have the attack they had last season but there attack is very strong still with many capable goal scorers and plenty that can facilitate as well. Guys like Dzeko will have a field day against them the Bosnian not only is the most dangerous striker in the league on his day but is very physically strong he stands at 6’4 he will be very difficult to defend.
Also The speed of El Shaarawy will also be a major problem given the pace he has they will have a really hard to controlling the speedsters Roma have. Also Benevento just have one goal in four games the fact that they cant score probably means another easy day for Alisson and his defense. The key player in this game for me is Alexandro Florezni despite being out for over a year he hit the ground running like he never left he will pull the strings for Roma in this game his impact in the defense and attack will break them. Should another easy three points for the visitors.
