Philip Kakou’s disjointed performance on Matchday four away to Heerenveen opened up critics. It was unconvincing to drop points so easily when hopes were high to gain maximum points from the opening and relatively easy games. Kakou’s young team started well in the first three but this lapse can prove dangerous against the champions. It is only one game uptil now that didn’t went to their way but it can prompt difficulties ahead. With the loss of defensive pair in the likes of Andres Guardado and Hector Moreno, Psv need an eminent approach for a descent game. Guardado and Moreno both seperated from the club but to their disarray Psv are still searching for a experienced center back. Further frustration was added to their 2-0 loss at Heerenveen regarding the red card shown to the game maker Lozano. Lozano was in the peak of his form bursting into the starting eleven as hot talent assisting three and scoring two in bringing success for his club. His dismissal left the midfield out of shape and they ran out of fuel where his energy and skill was required. This game without him will be hard fought especially when the opponents coincided just one in four games. The relief for Psv is that Santiago Arias is still with the squad. He can subdue many of the task of Lozano and had scored previously at De Kup in the 2-1 loss to the eventual champions. Veteran striker Luk De Jong will gain back his center forward position after his transfer saga died down on the deadline day of the summer transfer window.
Feyenoord are the only club with the perfect start to the season and entering into Matchday 5, they have won each of their first four games earning 12 points, scoring 11 and coinciding only one in the process. They played an exclusive campaign last term winning the title after 17 years hunt. Jiovani Ban Bronckhorst changed the faith of his boyhood club, sitting in his managerial contention. Since he took charge, the club forgot to let goals in and bolster a well equipped attacking front. He came into the scene of winning the title at the end of last year, losing only once. At last, he was able to carry on his defining season clinching the much awaited silverware. This season he produced something same reconstructing his idea of attacking football. Even the departure of Elia to Istanbul Basekshir, there was no point to look down as the champions brought two academy graduate namely Boetius and Farr. They quickly proved themselves elegant going forward. After a 2-1 home win in the opener of the season, the champions stormed down Excelsior, Willem 11 and Heracles one by one, keeping clean sheet in each game. However, the Dutch giants crumbled under Guadiola’s Manchester City 4-0 in the opening night of the Champions league. Man City are surely tough opponents to beat but it is also because that Bronckhorst never took the game seriously. The only problem is that their center forward Nicolai Jorgensen is unlikely to feature in this game after limping off the ground in the game against Heracles.
The spectators may witness a goal flurry afternoon in a packed Philips stadion as Eindhoven fans will urge Philip Kakou to seek revenge on the Champions unbeaten in the last two visits to the stadium. The clash is more vital for Psv in desperation to get back to winning ways.
PSV will be without Hirving Lozano, who is suspended after his red card last week. That will give a chance to Luuk de Jong, who will come back into the starting line-up. Jurgen Locadia is likely to move back to the wing, with Gaston Pereiro coming into midfield for Bart Ramselaar.
Nicolai Jorgensen will be missing for Feyenoord, but Ridgeciano Haps is fit again and should start. Bilal Basacikoglu, Sven van Beek and Bart Nieuwkoop are back training and could feature on the bench. After impressing against Man City, Sofyan Amrabat could stay at right-back instead of Kevin Diks.
