Skriniar and Perisic were on target as Inter left it late against a resolute Crotone side
Luciano Spalletti’s men left it late against a resolute Crotone side to continue their perfect start to the new season.
Inter looked in real danger of dropping points for the first time in Serie A but late goals from Skriniar and Perisic snatch the victory from the hard working Crotone side.
Inter started the match with confidence as they have won the previous three matches in Serie A, but things were harder than it was expected from the Crotone side as they had the first chance of the night. Aleksander Tonev got in the pocket of space left by Miranda on the halfway mark as he drilled his shot towards goal, it was a comfortable save for Handanovic.
Then both Perisic and Joao Mario missed opportunities to break the deadlock right at the half hour mark.
Inter then started to maintain pressure on Crotone as Borja Valero stole possession just inside the Crotone half before releasing Perisic, whose through ball was latched onto by Joao Mario. The Portuguese international, though, was only able to roll his low shot past Cordaz’s far post.
The last chance of the first half went to Crotone as Bruno Martella’s fierce drive from a short free-kick went agonisingly past Handanovic’s post.
Crotone had a greact chance to take the lead just 5 minutes into the 2nd half when Tonev latched onto a long ball over the top of the Inter defence, but when confronted with Handanovic he could only hit his effort into the body of the Slovenian.
Handanovic was again asked to pull off a stunning save when Rohden met a teasing cross with a close-range header but the Inter keeper showed incredible reflexives to tip the ball over the bar.
When it seemed like both teams would settle for a point Internazionale defender Skriniar slotted it past the keeper after the ball was scrambling in the middle of box.
Inter managed to break the deadlock right at the 82 minute and few minutes later Perisic stepped up and increased Crotone’s misery with a deflected strike to wrap up all three points.
